I got my new distributor kit and thought, “Everyone will want to do this!” (Stop laughing at my stupidity. That is my worthless sponsor’s job.)

And then the objections began.

I created objections with 100% efficiency, even with the most pre-sold prospects. No one could resist the urge to be negative to me and my opportunity. And oh my! The objections were creative. 

  • “I can’t join. Our dog peed on the carpet.” (Huh?)
  • “We don’t have any money. We barely can make the payments on our overpriced cars we have to impress our equally broke neighbors. (Well, this is a rough translation.)
  • “I have an acquaintance that met a stranger who knew of someone who tried network marketing and it didn’t work.” (Rumors have power.)
  • “I don’t want to be a salesman.” (And then they spent the next 10 minutes selling me on the reasons they didn’t want to be a salesman.)
  • “I am too busy already. You are interfering with my personal time.” (Ouch.)
  • “Nothing works for me.” (Might be true with that attitude.)

Yes, this happened 50 years ago, but why am I telling you now? Because I couldn’t complain on social media then :)

Now, objections happen.

People have problems. They don’t want what we offer. And yes, we can create objections by choosing the wrong words too. But …

If we could crush objections, with no rejection, would that give us superpowers?

We know the answer. Success and confidence are great feelings.
